Benjamin M. Soto

President of Premium Title & Escrow, LLC and Board Director of a Bank

Benjamin M. Soto has built a long career in real estate law, title services, development, banking, public service, and community work. He has practiced real estate law for more than 30 years and is a member of the DC Bar and the Pennsylvania Bar. He also owns two real estate-related firms that support clients through settlements.

Owner, Premium Title & Escrow

He owns Premium Title & Escrow, LLC, a full-service title company that handles commercial and residential real estate settlements in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Tennessee. Established in 2000, the company has remained one of the highest volume title companies in the DMV market for two decades, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The team brings 100 years of combined industry experience. They complete detailed title searches and support closing services so buyers and lenders can receive clear and marketable title. This work includes issuing Owner’s Title Policies, which protect property owners from covered title risks, and Lender’s Title Policies, which protect a lender’s lien position in residential and commercial transactions.

The company also manages the full closing process. Its work includes coordinating documents, handling escrow funds, and recording documents in Land Records. This helps clients move through each part of the process with structure and accuracy.

Owner, Paramount Development, LLC

He also owns Paramount Development, LLC, a commercial development company focused on acquiring and developing commercial buildings in Washington, D.C. The company helped develop The Wharf and three large apartment buildings, including 555 E. Street, SW, 1031 4th Street, NW, and 350 Maple Drive.

The 555 E. Street property is a twelve-story, mixed-use asset. It includes a 253-room hotel, a residential component, and more than 10,000 square feet of retail space.

He also developed the Hyatt Place Hotel at 400 East Street, SW. Completed in 2015, the hotel features modern design and a state-of-the-art fire station. The fire station serves Engine Company 13, Truck Company 10, and Foam Unit 2, and protects the U.S. President.

A Member on Numerous Prestigious Boards

He serves on the Board of Directors of EagleBank, one of the largest community banks in the DMV area. The bank has 22 branches, more than $11 billion in assets, and offices in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Benjamin M. Soto also serves on the boards of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and the D.C. Public Education Fund. He has served these organizations for 10 years and 19 years, respectively. He also serves on the American University Real Estate Council.

His Drive and Vision

As a native of Washington, D.C., he has built a reputation for fair dealing and steady work. That approach has helped Premium Title & Escrow serve a wide range of clients, from small family businesses to major entities.

He understands that real estate is often one of a client's largest investments. He also recognizes that title defects can create serious risk for property owners. For that reason, he helps clients reduce concerns related to ownership, closing, and title protection.

Early in His Career

Early in his career, he handled personal and commercial bankruptcy cases. Over time, he shifted his focus fully toward real estate transactions. He began conducting closings for real estate developers, agents, loan officers, government entities, and other professionals in the field.

Past Affiliations

His industry involvement has continued across many areas. He formerly served as Vice Chair of the Board of Real Property Assessment and Appeals. He also served as a board member of the National Bar Association, a board trustee of Georgetown Day School, and a board member of the D.C. Sports & Entertainment Commission, which developed the Washington Nationals’ Baseball Stadium. He is also an investor in the team.

He also served as treasurer on 16 mayoral and council campaigns in Washington, D.C., reflecting his civic involvement.

A Philanthropist

He is committed to giving back to the community. He is the founding Board Director of the D.C. Public Education Fund. He also serves as a Board Director of the National Foundation for Affordable Housing Solutions, a nonprofit focused on preserving existing affordable rental housing and developing new communities for underserved, low-income populations through partnerships, federal tax credits, and financing structures.
